Love Italian food, want to serve your dear one's with fresh home made pasta? Try this Wheat ravioli filled with mushroom. Ravioli is a stuffed pasta served with broth or pasta sauce. They are just like dumplings, but the filling will be sealed between two layers of thin pasta dough. They may be round, square or semi-circular.
Have pasta machine, you saved. Making pasta sheets with machine is very easy. But don't have one like me, no problem we enjoy rolling and cutting them. Take your little one's help, they will enjoy it. My little cook is active these days and helping me so much in kitchen. Last Sunday, she helped me in rolling and cutting cookies and today she helped me with pasta.
The measurements I am giving will make 12 ravioli, but may vary depending on size. We can make them ahead and put them in zip lock bag and store them in freezer for a week, but don't stack them.

Ingredients for Pasta:
- Wheat flour - 1 cup
- Egg - 1(optional)
- Salt - 1/2 tsp
- Water as required to make dough
- Mushroom - 4 (Big)
- Onion - 1
- Capsicum - 1/2 cup
- Garlic cloves - 2
- Pepper powder - 1 tsp or to taste
- Oregano - 1/2 tsp
- Basil Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli flakes - 1 tsp (optional)
- Olive Oil - 1 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- All purpose flour - 2 Tbsp
- Milk - 2 cups
- Chopped Garlic - 1 tsp (optional)
- Mushroom - 4
- Salt to taste
- Pepper powder to taste.
Preparing Pasta:
- Mix wheat flour and salt in a bowl and add egg and mix. Make it into tough dough.(it should not be soft as we have to make thin sheets). Cover and Keep aside.
Preparing Mushroom Filling:
- Finely chop garlic, onion, capsicum and mushroom.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and fry garlic and onion till transparent.
- Add mushroom, capsicum and fry till there is no water and mushroom turns tender.
- Add salt, pepper powder, oregano and basil powder. If you want to make it little spice add chilli flakes or chilli powder.
Preparing Ravioli Pasta:
- We can make pasta using pasta machine or by hand.
- Knead the dough and start rolling it into thin sheet dusting with flour.
- Take a circular cutter or circular lid and cut the rolled dough sheet into small circles.
- Place small amount of mushroom filling on a circular sheet and cover with another sheet and press the edges of both the sheets. Apply water or egg white to the edges of one sheet so that they stick.
- Take a fork and press the edges gently to make design.
- Boil water along with little salt and cook pasta in it for 5 minutes. (We must be gentle with the pasta as they are made with very thin sheets.
- While cooking pasta, in a pan heat butter or olive oil and saute garlic for a min.
- Add onion and saute until they are transparent.
- Add mushrooms to the pan and cook them till tender. Don't over cook mushroom.
- Add all purpose flour to the mushrooms and stir for a min.
- Add milk and stir without forming lumps and add pepper and salt and cook sauce until thickens.
- Pour white sauce on a plate and place cooked ravioli and serve hot.
