Whenever we have some special occasion and want to celebrate, first thing we think about food. What food to prepare or which restaurant we have to go? If we want to celebrate with our friends we will think about fast food. Whenever you think about fast food What food you think off? I will think about crispy pizza... We all have special occasions, but do you agree that pizza made some special occasions like the days we bunk college, went to pizza corner, chit-chatting with our close buddies, sharing yummy pizza.... Having pizza with our family members and fighting with our brother or sister about the last piece of it....
My family love home-made pizza. The best thing about home-made pizza is we can add lots of fresh veggies. Making pizza is very easy.
Yield: 2 medium pizzas.
Inactive Time : 1 hour 30 minutes. Active Time : 15 minutes.
Cook Time : 10 minutes for each pizza
Prep Time For Sauce: 10 Minutes
Ingredients For Pizza Base:
- All purpose flour - 2 1/4 cup
- Yeast - 1.5 tsp
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Warm water - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 2 tbsp
- Olive Oil - 2 tsp
- Garlic - 2 tsp, chopped (optional)
- Milk - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Cabbage - 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes - 2
- Onion - 1
- Capsicum - 1
- Chicken breasts - 2 (optional)
- Mozzarella Cheese and Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup
- Take slightly warm water and add sugar and yeast and mix well. Keep in warm place for 15 minutes or until foaming.
- Combine all purpose flour and salt in a bowl and add the yeast mixture little by little and mix well and knead the dough for 5 minutes gently and coat the dough with olive oil, cover it with a towel and place it in a warm place. ( I placed it in my convection oven with light on). Dough must be soft. If we press the dough with a figure it must come to normal position as shown in the picture.
- After 30 minutes that it out and knead the dough once again gently and cover it again and leave it for another 1 hour. Dough will rise as shown in picture.
- In a pan, heat olive oil, add chopped garlic and saute until they turn golden brown and add all-purpose flour and cook for a minute and milk little by little stirring continuously without forming lumps. Mix salt and pepper and cook until sauce thickens.
- If sauce is too thick we can add little milk.
- Chop all the veggies lengthwise. ( we can also use mushrooms, olives)
- If using chicken, marinate it with red chilli powder, salt, little lemon and basil powder. Fry it and chop it into small pieces.
- Preheat oven to 500 degree F or maximum temperature of your oven. Apply olive oil to the pizza pan.
- Knead the dough for 5 minutes.
- Roll dough by dusting with flour and using a fork poke holes all over the rolling dough. If you want think crust roll dough thin.
- Apply white sauce and add veggies and cheese. You can add cheese as you like. I am using less.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes. Don't over bake as the crust will become hard.
