Tofu Paratha

Tofu Paratha

I love Paneer, but these days I am trying to shift little love to Tofu due to it's health benefits. As paneer is made by curdling cow milk, tofu is made by curdling soy milk. Tofu may don't have any taste, but low in fat and high in proteins and Iron. Mostly I will make sandwich using Tofu. But this time I want to make something that I can give my kid too. So I made tofu paratha and she loved it. Tofu will  not change the taste of paratha but make paratha soft.

Tofu Paratha

Yield: 10 to 12 Parathas
Ingredients:
  • Tofu - 200 grams
  • Wheat Flour - 1.5 cups
  • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
Preparation:
  • Scrabble tofu in a bowl and add cumin, coriander, red chilli powder and mix well.
  • Add wheat flour and salt to tofu mixture and mix it and add little water at a time, make it into soft dough.
  • Drizzle a few drops of Oil over the dough to coat. Cover and allow the dough to rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • Once you are ready to make the parathas, give the dough one more quick knead.
  • Heat up a tawa on medium heat and divide the dough and make balls .
  • Dip in additional dry flour and start rolling with a rolling pin using Flour to dust.
  • Once the Paratha is rolled out and the tawa is hot, place it on the tawa.
  • Cook on both sides and serve hot.
