Cauliflower Curry/Gobi Curry

Cauliflower is one of my favorite veggie. But these days I really don't like it cook and eat due the water will remove it's smell. We can also let the cauliflower to sit in hot water for some time and then frying it also help's. After a long time I enjoyed my gobi curry.

Serves : 2 to 3
Ingredients:

  • Cauliflower/Gobi - 1 small head
  • Onion - 1, Large
  • Tomato - 1, Large
  • Green Peas - 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/2tsp
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil - 3 Tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Coriander for garnishing

Preparation:

  • Remove the leaves of cauliflower and separate the florets and cut them into medium size and wash them.
  • Take sufficient water in a bowl, add turmeric powder and boil the water and switch off the stove and add cauliflower and close the lid and let them sit for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Fry the cauliflower with a tsp oil in a pan for 5 minutes.
  •                                                                  OR
  • Take sufficient water in a bowl, add turmeric powder and add cauliflower and cook until half done and strain the water and keep cauliflower aside.
  • Let's see how to prepare cauliflower curry:
  • Heat oil in a pan, add chopped onions, curry leaves, turmeric powder and little salt and cook till onions turn brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and tomato pieces and cook till tomatoes are tender.
  • Add peas, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and cook for a minute.
  • Add water and cook for 10 minutes and add cauliflower and garam masala and cook till cauliflower is done. (It  will take less than 5 minutes)
  • Serve with rice or roti.
